There is no snow on the ground (yet), and winter doesn't technically start until Dec. 21, but nonetheless, Stoughton's winter parking ban goes into effect Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012.
Parking on the streets is prohibited between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., according to the Stoughton Police Department Facebook page.
The overnight parking ban lasts from Dec. 1, 2012 until April 1, 2013.
There is a $15 fine for violating the winter parking ban and the vehicle is subject to be towed at the owner's expense.
