This winter, the Stoughton Recreation Department will be offering a five week instructional ski and snowboarding program for children ages 8 to 15 at the Blue Hills Ski Area.
Lessons will be given on five consecutive Thursdays beginning January 10, 2013. The program will be held from 4:15 - 5:30 p.m.
Transportation is available and leaves the Stoughton High School parking lot (cafeteria side), promptly at 3:20 p.m. and returns at approximately 6:30 p.m. Parents may provide their own transportation.
Participants are also able to rent equipment (skis, boots, helmets, poles, etc.).
Stoughton Recreation Director John Denison said this program has been run in cooperation with Blue Hills for over 25 years.
"It is a relatively inexpensive and convenient way to learn how to ski and/or snowboard," Denison said. "Even children who already know how to ski use it to fine tune their skills. Many parents use it as a gift for the holidays."
Denison continued, "The kids who take our transportation are supervised by experienced chaperones who assist the children with rentals and help get them to their instructors."
Registration for this program closes Monday, Dec. 17. Refer to the flyer posted in the media gallery for more information, including pricing (or click here).
