1. Stoughton Firefighter Participating in "Fight for Air" Climb
Lt. Jim Campbell of the Stoughton Fire Department is participating in the 2013 Fight for Air Climb in Boston on Feb. 2.
Campbell will be taking part in a "vertical road race" where he will be climbing 40+ floors (which is 80+ flights and almost 800 stairs) at One Boston Place near Government Center. At 601 feet, it is the fourth tallest building in Boston.
And he will be doing so wearing his fire gear.

This is his fourth year participating.
2. "Murder at the Library" Fundraiser on TV
The murder mystery presentation to benefit SOLA (Support Our Library Association) was captured by Stoughton Media Access and will air on the Public Access channel on the following dates this weekend on Comcast Channel 9 or Verizon Channel 28:
- Saturday Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. & 7 p.m.
- Sunday Feb. 3 at 9 p.m.

3. Save the Date: 3rd Annual Party All Night Long March Madness Fundraiser

Party All Night Long (PANL) is hosting its 3rd Annual March Madness Fundraiser on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Portuguese National Club at 21 Railroad Ave. Stoughton.
March Madness features a Cash Elimination Raffle with the chance to win $3,000 cash. There will be 3 additional prizes of $500 each. Only 100 Cash Raffle tickets will be sold. Tickets will be offered to previous purchasers only until February 1, and then will go on sale to general public. So if you want to secure the same number you had last year, you only have until Friday to buy a ticket before that number goes on sale to the general public.
PANL sold out of tickets last year! Cash raffle tickets are $100 each and can be purchased individually or together with a group. Winners need not be present to win. Each cash raffle ticket includes one ticket to the March Madness Party. Additional event tickets are $20 each.

4. Stoughton High Sports on Tap
The Stoughton High girls' varsity basketball team hosts King Philip Friday at 6:30 p.m., while the SHS boys' varsity basketball team travels to King Philip at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Freshmen games are at 3:30 p.m. and JV games are at 5 p.m.
STOYAC girls' rec league and travel basketball players get into the SHS JV and varsity girls' games vs. King Philip for only $1 if they wear their team t-shirt/uniform top.
Meanwhile, the SHS hockey team takes on King Philip at the Foxboro Sports Center Saturday, Feb. 2 at 8:10 p.m.
5. Stoughton Youth Baseball/Stoughton Babe Ruth Baseball Registration
Stoughton Youth Baseball and Babe Ruth will hold a registration breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 3 from 8 a.m. to noon at Sons of Italy Hall, 560 Washington St. (behind Copy Inks). This is for the Stoughton Youth Baseball & Babe Ruth Spring 2013 season.
Youth Baseball is open to all kids ages 5-12, with costs ranging from $55 to $130. Babe Ruth is open to all kids ages 13-15. Cost is $165.
BONUS - Looking Ahead: Stoughton's 2013 Cooperstown 12-Year-Old Baseball Team Fundraiser at Jake's Wayback Burgers
Stoughton’s 2013 Cooperstown 12-year-old Baseball Team will receive a portion of the sales from Jake's Wayback Burgers (located at 386 Washington St. at the corner of Washington St. and Central St.) Monday Feb. 4 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The team will be holding various events to help fundraise for its trip to Cooperstown, NY this summer.
